I have been watching a show called "Saving Grace" and in this show the main character has an angel named Earl. I immediately wondered if this dog was my Earl. He walked right along with me not wavering. I came across an acquaintance "Suspenders John". He was in the front of his house on his tractor moving dirt. I asked him if the dog was his. No. We talked for a few minutes and pondered about what to do with the dog. I decided to continue on my walk and John took the dog in for some water.
I looped around and stopped back to check on the dog. He was still there. We decided I would take him home. He walked right next to me the whole way. We got home he waited on the porch. He was a little skittish. I left the door open and he came in when I was not looking. I introduced him to my puppy and all went well. I decided to introduce him to Elmo my 10 yr old alpha dog. Not good. Elmo slipped out of the collar and lease. Started attacking the dog I call Earl. I was screaming. I tried to get Elmo and finally grabbed his neck. Earl ran outside into the back fenced in area. He is scared to death. I locked Elmo in the garage.
The price to pay to do a good deed. I put Elmos harness on him and loaded him into the car. Left Earl outside and locked little baby in the house. Off to put up flyers in the dark. I went back to where I found him put up 10 flyers on the mail boxes and then at the post office.
I hope Earl's owner calls soon. He is really a nice dog.
